“I’ve read a lot of fake girlfriend/boyfriend romances, but Forward Progress stood out amongst them all to me.” - Cranky - The Book Curmudgeon “This was a great start to the series and I cannot wait to see what S.R.Grey has in store for the Men of Fall.” - Erin Lewis “Sweetness overload with some wonderful swoon and drama to keep you on your toes come together in this sexy football romance!” - Red Hatter Book Blog
“You want me to do what?” Irritated, I grab a water from the mini-fridge, take a swig, and slam the bottle down on the table in the middle of the living room of the hotel suite I’m in. “You’re fucking crazy, Jock,” I sneer. “It wasn’t my idea, Graham,” he replies, unfazed by my outburst as he sits quietly on the sofa. “I told you the added stipulation in the new contract the Comets are offering was completely new to me too.” “It’s fucking loco is what it is,” I grumble. It’s true. This latest development in contract negotiations is truly nuts. They want me to pretend to have a fake girlfriend. Are they off their rockers? “How’s this even supposed to work?” I ask. “We’re hammering out the details.” “Great. Do I at least get to meet this mystery woman before I sign?” “No. There’s no time for that. You will meet her, though, before the season begins.” “Whatever,” I huff. “I can’t believe I’m supposed to pretend to be dating a girl I’ve never even seen. To top it off, I get to meet her just once, then I’m expected to act as if we’re in a serious relationship.” “Pretty much,” Jock confirms. This is bad, but there’s something more I’m struggling with—I’m supposed to also fucking move in with this pretend girlfriend. Could it get any worse?

Review:
Jock Rule was… amazing! The banter and dialogue between Kip and Teddy was everything. This book was witty, fun, and adorable with some steam (if that’s even a thing). Teddy and Kip are total opposites, and in this case, the adage “opposites attract” really works for them. Teddy is shy and nice while Kip is kind of rude and crude, not to mention, they are from totally different worlds socially. They really bring out the best in one another—Kip teaches her to stand up for herself and Teddy helps Kip learn that not all women are after him for his looks and money—she softens him. Their journey from friends to lovers felt genuine and real. I definitely recommend this book if you like funny and sexy sports romances. Title: Listen Pitch
Series: There's No Crying in Baseball
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: October 16, 2018 Cover Model: Jacob Wilson Photographer: FuriousFotog
Rhys Rivera is the star short-stop for the Longview Lumberjacks. Many know him, even more love him. He has a pretty face, a quick smile, and an air of danger about him that everyone seems to adore.
He’s not known as the bad boy of baseball for nothing.
It all started with his father, who decided to be a criminal mob boss, then die.
Fortunately for his uncle, Rhys wants absolutely nothing to do with the family business and runs before anyone can figure out which way is up.
By the time his uncle, the successor to his father’s criminal empire, thinks to look for him, Rhys has made too big of a name for himself to be taken out quietly, and he wants to keep it that way.
Fast forward eight years, and Rhys is living life one breath at a time, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. That shoe coming in the form of a nosy neighbor who has no idea just how hot she is in her mail carrier uniform.
Her sweet little body and positive outlook on life make him want to laugh at how naïve she is when it comes to the way of the world.
The harder he tries to stay away, the weaker he seems to get, until one day he decides to put his morals on hold long enough to satisfy his cravings.
One time is all he needs—or so he tells himself.
But then two pink lines change everything, and all of a sudden, he doesn’t have just himself to worry about anymore.
Review:
I seriously don’t know how Lani Lynn Vale does it. With so many books published, you would think they would get formulaic, but Listen Pitch is an excellent example of how she keeps each book new and fresh. This really is a fast paced book with lots of action and drama going on, which is in my wheelhouse. I loved that this book could probably translate over to daytime TV soaps. All Rhys wants to do is play baseball and stay as far from the family business as possible, as in Cosa Nostra family business, but all the caveats of his father’s will make it impossible. Sooner or later, he will have to make some big decisions. Henley Cree is Rhys hearing impaired neighbor, and as their paths continue to cross, a relationship soon develops between them. I know I say this every time, but I really don’t want to give away too many details because all the events that take place since their first meeting take you a roller coaster of a ride. It’s bam, bam, bam… So, gird your loins! This was a fast, enjoyable read for me that kept me entertained the whole time. I can’t wait for LLV’s next book! 5 Stars!

Title: Quit Your Pitchin'
Series: There's No Crying in Baseball
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: July 20, 2018 Cover Model: Chase Ketron Photographer: FuriousFotog
What’s wrong with my butt?
She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself
from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he’s seen in his life.
Apparently, answering her with ‘not a damn thing’ wasn’t what she was expecting.
She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat, either.
All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, falls head over
heels in love with Wrigley Field—and yes, that is her real name.
From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends with them eloping
to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the ass grandmother to thank for it.
Not that he’s complaining or anything.
Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of
the World Series?
The only problem is trying to convince her of that.
Review:
Quit Your Pitchin’ was nothing like I expected! This book was different from every other LLV book I’ve read. It’s the sweet & tragic story of a couple who come together and fall apart. Who love each other so desperately but don’t know how to surmount the obstacles in their way. It’s told in two-parts, basically before the rift and after. There are dysfunctional family dynamics in play, and it made me wonder why these characters held on to those relationships for so long. Both the main characters have family issues, so it’s not just one or the other. But I did love George’s grandma! She was a hoot! I don’t want to give any spoilers so I’ll stop here. Just know that I wanted to slap the characters on more than one occasion because they made their road to HEA more difficult than it should have been… but that’s just human nature! 4 Stars!
Title: Going for the Hole
Author: L.P. Dover
Genre: Sports Rom/Com
Release Date: June 25, 2018 Cover Designer: Letitia Hasser @ RBA Designs
“I absolutely loved everything about this story!!I literally devoured it in one sitting…” ~ Marybeth (Goodreads review) “I’m addicted to L.P’s books and Going for the Hole is by far my favorite book.” ~ Veronica (Goodreads review)
Stroke it smooth.
And you’ll sink right into the hole. That’s my motto both on and off the golf course. The women come in full supply everywhere I go and there are no complaints. Maybe it’s the size of my driver that gets them going.
I’m Lucas “Ace” Montgomery, professional golfer and world record holder for the longest drive in golf history. The PGA Tour has been my life, but it’s time for a break. A few relaxing weeks of drinking and golf with friends in Myrtle Beach is what I need. However, when a bright pink ball knocks me out on the course, and a blonde beauty comes to my aid, I expect to see a gallery girl, a.k.a a member of the Party Groupie Association. Trust me, those girls know how to have fun. Although, to my surprise, it’s not what I get at all.
Dr. Ashley Locke is beautiful and everything I’d want if I was ever to get serious about someone. Unfortunately, she has no interest in me whatsoever which only makes me want her more. All she wants is to get through her friend’s bachelorette weekend and go back to her life. But after injuring me on the course, I’m not letting her run away so easily. When I want something, I get it.
I’m not competing for money this time. All I want is to win her heart.
“When can I see you again?”
I shook my head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“I took a needle in the ass for you. Surely, that deserves more of your attention?”
Why did he always have to give me that devilish smile of his? As much as I wanted to hate it, I couldn’t. “Why are you doing this? Can’t you find someone else?”
“Of course I can, but I want you. We can have secret meetings in here if you’re still embarrassed to be seen in public with me.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m not embarrassed. You’re you, and I’m a respectable member of society.”
He burst out laughing. “Okay, I see how it is.”
“I just don’t want the publicity,” I added. “You can understand that, right? You of all people should know what it’s like not to have privacy.”
His smile faded. “You’re right, I do, but it’s my life. I can’t change who I am.” My body shivered with the intensity of his stare. “For once, I thought I’d found someone who wanted me for me and not my money or fame.”
Guilt racked my body and I sighed. “Okay, I give in. I can see you tomorrow, after I get out of the spa. Maybe we can order in room service.”
Eyes twinkling, he went over to the door and opened it. “Now that’s a plan I can get behind.”
Before I could walk out, he stood in my way, body close to mine. “I’m going to break through that ice wall of yours, sunshine. One way or another.”
I batted my eyelashes in an innocent matter. “Good luck with that.”

Title: The Bombshell Effect
Author: Karla Sorensen
Genre: Sports Romantic Comedy
Release Date: June 14, 2018 Cover Designer: Najla Qamber
Allie Sutton just got a new job.
Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone) ... the professional football team he owned for the last twenty years.
Luke Pierson does not want a new boss.
What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.
For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it's a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.
Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.
