Every push, every change, each risk — brings Cal and Annie closer to acceptance. Closer to uncovering truth.
Two people who never believed in forever — now have a reason to trust fate.
***Continuum is the third book in The South Beach Connection Trilogy***
Talk about a roller coaster ride! My heart sank so low and rose so high throughout this book. There were times I wanted to hurt both Annie and Cal. Slap some sense into them. Shake them until their teeth rattled. In the end, perseverance won.
Annie goes through so much depression in this book. It was really hard to get through those parts. I wanted to hug her so badly and let her know she would get through it. Other times, I wanted to shake her out of it and tell her to try harder. Kudos to the author for writing so deeply the feelings portrayed in this book. It brought back bad memories and emotions for me, making it feel so real. Cal goes through a lot on in this book, too. His hopelessness really got to me. I understood him needing time to deal with things on his own, but I really wanted to hurt him for it, too, because Annie was also going through something tough and basically all alone. They should have been together. As I said in previous reviews, the writing was phenomenal. The way Hadley writes is so poetic, emotions and comparisons flowing within a beautiful prose. This is an author that I will read anything she puts out there.
5 Stars!!!
She loves her husband.
Chocolate.
Her children.
And Cary Grant.
She annoys those darling little children by quoting lines from Back to the Future, but despite her knowledge of eighties and nineties pop culture, she was actually meant to live alongside the Lost Generation after the Great War and write a mediocre novel while drinking absinthe with Hemingway. Instead, find her sipping sweet tea with extra lemons on her porch as she weaves fictional tales of love and angst amid reality.
Summary: What ever happened to Pete and Daisy? When we left them, their daughter had just been born, and some momentous decisions had been made. It’s now four years later. Their family has grown, as has their love for each other. Clio is a rocky smart, precocious four year old, and she’s been joined by baby sister Francie. Pete’s career as a musician is finally taking off, and things should be rosy; however, fame and fortune bring their own pitfalls, and a voice from the past arrives in their lives, threatening to upset everything they’ve worked for. Can they survive Pete’s success, and the long shadow cast by Daisy’s past? How will Pete deal with groupies, temptation, and prolonged separation from his family? And how far is Daisy willing to go to protect those she loves? Join the Santangelos on this rollicking roller coaster second installment of their journey. Excerpt: The girls, exhausted from the excitement, fell asleep on the subway, and Daisy carried Francie while Pete grabbed Clio for the two blocks to their apartment. Pete buried his nose in Clio’s hair, inhaling the scent of her as she rested her head trustingly on his shoulder. She was his daughter, she just was. She had grown in Daisy’s womb as his and Daisy’s love for each other had grown, she’d been nurtured by Daisy as Daisy had been nurtured by him. She was Francie’s sister. She was his child. She belonged to him. They laid the girls down in their beds and went to change into comfortable clothes. Pete found Daisy in the living room sipping a cup of Earl Grey tea, the only tea he’d ever seen her drink. “Are you sure?” he asked, sitting next to her. She nodded sadly, turning huge eyes to his face. She took a deep breath. “But maybe he won’t remember me,” she said hopefully, setting her tea aside. “I mean, it’s been over five years, you know? Plus I’m a mother now. He’s a studio musician, he must screw hundreds of women a year, he must’ve had a million one-nighters since then…” She stopped as she heard her own words, biting her lips together. The unspoken words hung between them. She, Daisy, was one of the “hundreds of women,” the “million one-nighters” that she was talking about. Pete was shaking his head. “Daisy, you’re many, many things, but forgettable isn’t one of them. With your hair, your lovely body, those eyes—“ He broke off to kiss her. “Men notice you wherever you go. It wouldn’t matter how many children you had, cara, you’re spectacular and memorable. It’s only a matter of time before he remembers where he’s seen the beautiful redhead with the blue eyes…” Daisy sighed, a terrible sound. “Pete, I’m so sorry,” she whispered, tearfully, turning away, rubbing at her eyes with her knuckles. “I wish so much that you’d been the one to put Clio inside me…” Pete gathered her in, tucking her hot face into his neck. “Shh, shh, you mustn’t say that, ever,” he scolded gently. “We love Clio exactly as she is, and she wouldn’t be that person if her circumstances weren’t what they are. You did nothing wrong, cara, nothing.” He stroked her body, rocking her gently. “Don’t blame yourself, please.” “But, but,” she sobbed softly. “It feelslike I could’ve waited, I should’ve waited. Foryou, Pete. It feels like if I’d waited, Clio could’ve been ours.” She lifted her head to look into his eyes, and seeing his wife tearful like this ripped Pete’s heart up. He could count on the fingers of one hand the number of times he’d seen Daisy cry. It was unbearable for him. “Listen,” he said firmly, pulling her close again. “If you had never met that man, if you’d never spent the night with him,” and he felt Daisy tense up just from hearing the words, “Clio would never have been conceived, and we wouldn’t have her to love, she wouldn’t have us to love her, don’t you see? And Francie wouldn’t have her wonderful sister.” He gave Daisy a little shake. “You have nothing to regret, she is nothing to regret, cara, and I don’t blame you at all, about anything. She is my heart, Clio is my heart, and I love everything about her, just as it is.” The truth was that Pete wasn’t sure how he felt, about any of this. He was still reeling from the knowledge that he’d met his precious, beloved daughter’s biological father not three hours ago, and he’d be working with him very closely, probably on a daily basis, for the next three months. He put his own feelings away for now so he could take care of his wife. Daisy needed him now, she needed to hear him say these things to her. He’d deal with his own feelings later, when he had the luxury of time to examine them. “Daisy, you’re carrying our baby right now, hm?” He kissed her damp forehead. “You can’t upset yourself over this.” Daisy nodded from the safety of Pete’s arms. “Okay,” she whispered. “Okay,” she said again, with a little more energy. She pushed herself away from Pete so she could look at him. “Just because he remembers that he slept with me doesn’t mean he’ll figure out anything about Clio, though, right?” She looked appealingly at Pete. “I mean, why would he? It’s not like he’s going to remember that we didn’t use protection or whatever, and he doesn’t know when her birthday is or anything.” Guys didn’t think about stuff like that, did they? “All we have to do is just keep away from the studio while you’re recording, which won’t be a problem. I mean, why would your wife and child be down there while you’re recording, right?” Daisy was starting to babble, and Pete pulled her close again, both as a comfort and as a calming measure. Her arms went around his neck as she pulled herself in even tighter. “Pete, I’m scared,” she admitted. “No need,” he soothed, stroking her hair. He looked around at their apartment, at their lovely life, the life they’d built together. Daisy’s thousands of books lined the walls, his guitars and notebooks sat in the corner, and Clio and Francie’s books and toys took up every available nook and cranny of the lower spaces. He loved what he and Daisy had created. Never had it felt more fragile. About the Author: My name is Tani Hanes, and I am a 51 year old substitute teacher. Title: Emilia: Part 2
Series: Trassato Crime Family #4
Author: Lisa Cardiff
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: July 24, 2018 Cover Design: Deranged Doctor Design Publisher: Limitless Publishing
I’m the head of the Masciantonio family. I’m a dangerous, ruthless, unforgiving man, and I know how to fight dirty.
Fate put Emilia Trassato in my path. I saw a future with her—I saw hope. But she didn’t agree, and I let her walk away.
Now she’s back, but I’m no longer free to claim her. Yet, the minute our eyes meet I know there’s nothing in this entire goddamn world strong enough to keep me from her.
She’s the only woman I’ve ever wanted, and I don’t care how many promises I have to break, or how many lives I have to destroy…I’m not letting her go. Not again.
“I know what you’re thinking, Em. You’re planning to run again. Don’t do it. Your family loves you. They want you back. We all do.” I whirled around, the half dead blood-pumping organ beneath my ribcage beating fast and desperately. Sal stood less than a foot from me, his face exactly as I remembered it—all razor-sharp angles, a little curve at the bridge of his nearly too long nose, perfectly counterbalanced by his full bottom lip. The heavy shadow of stubble made his olive skin appear darker along his jaw. Nostalgia pinched at my chest. Too bad he didn’t look as ugly on the outside as he was on the inside. It would make seeing him so much easier.“Don’t. Okay? Just don’t start with the lies today of all days. Not when I have every reason to suspect my deranged family put a contract out on my husband and killed him.”He reeled backward as if I had physically slapped him. “I don’t know what’s goin’ on in your head, but I can assure you the Trassatos didn’t have anything to do with your husband’s death.”I shoved the hard wall of his chest, and he stumbled, unprepared for my assault. “He was shot through the mouth. I may have been young and naïve when I ran away, but even I know that type of killing is a message in our world.”
After spending years practicing law and running a real estate development company with her husband, Lisa decided to pursue her dream of becoming a writer and she must confess that inventing characters is so much more fun than writing contracts and legal briefs. A native of Colorado, she lives with her husband and three children in Denver.

Marcas is willing to go to extreme measures to protect Sarena. Will he be able to rescue her? Or will Marcas lose the one person who gave him hope for a future?
Mac had locked his gaze on Sarena the minute she’d appeared in her back yard. He’d taken notice of the way his men looked at her, too. He bit back a curse at the hunger in their eyes. None of them had hidden the fact that they were openly watching her. Sarena Rucker, with her beautiful bronze skin, deep dimples in each cheek, was a registered nurse who worked in the local emergency room. He made it his business to know his neighbors. She had moved in next door a couple of months ago. His cock grew stiff just thinking of the times he’d seen her out jogging. Her barely there clothes did nothing to hide her delicious curves. The swell of her hips was enough to bring a man to his knees. He’d bitten back a growl at the smile she’d tossed Brodie’s way. A new feeling crept up in his chest. Was that jealousy? Never before had he experienced it, but today, for some odd reason, his fist wanted to connect with Brodie’s wide grin. A whistle cut through the air as she went back into her home. “Who the hell is that?”“Mac, you’ve been holding out! When did that brown-skinned goddess move in?”“Is she single?”Questions immediately shot out from his team, and they began discussing Sarena. Mac put his attention back on the grill and raised the chilled bottleneck to his lips, pulling a long swig from it. He tended to the grill, his thoughts still on his sexy neighbor. “Her name is Sarena. She moved in two months ago, and yes, she’s single,” he answered unconsciously. The conversation halted again. He turned his head and found all eyes on him. He shrugged and kept all emotion from his face. “You’ve met her?” Ashton asked, his eyebrows raised. “No. Ran a background check on her,” he admitted, turning back to the grill. He could feel the stunned eyes of his team on him at his announcement. “Really, Mac? You ran a check on her?” Iker chuckled. “That’s bold.”“Have you ever heard of approaching your neighbor and just have a conversation with them to get to know them?” Zain asked, his eyebrows high.“I’m not even surprised,” Declan drawled from his position. He leaned back in his chair, resting his feet on the railing of Mac’s deck. His friend knew him well. They were similar, and Mac knew that Declan had done the same with his neighbors. “Mac always needs to know everything about anyone around him.” Mac nodded in agreement. He had run background checks on all the neighbors. He wanted to truly know who he was living around. Questions were thrown out from the guys. They were like a pack of wild savages circling around fresh meat. “She’s off-limits,” he ordered. Complaints filled the air, and he shook his head, turning back to his team. “How do you get to make that decision for her?” Myles leaned back against the railing with his beer paused at his lips. “I’m your commanding officer. What I say goes,” he growled, looking them all in the eyes. “Besides, good neighbors are hard to find. Don’t need the likes of you sniffing around her and chasing her off.”Chuckles filled the air as he checked on the last of the steaks. “Food is done,” he announced, taking the steaks off the grill. His team ambled to the oversized table. He needed to get their attention off Sarena and knew she would be temporarily forgotten once food was placed in front of his men. He swiveled his gaze back to Sarena’s house for a brief second before moving toward the long table on his deck. His eyes met Declan’s as he made his way there. Declan raised an eyebrow, and Mac knew his friend read him. Mac wanted his neighbor, and in time, he would have her.
